On the one hand there doesn't seem to be much to post about these days - no haircuts, no failing pregnancy tests, no unemployment or major life changes. But things happen every day - our tomatoes grow, our dog gets kicked out of daycare, we get new (and improved!) neighbors, friends visit, another family gets sucked into the Austin vortex, Kelly gets sucked into a new video game, a rat takes up residence in our shed, and my sister reorganizes half of our house...

I could have posted about any one of those things, I guess. Instead I've just been coming home and sitting on the couch for the most part. I'm buying new clothes, learning not to loathe my blackberry and trying to do some yoga every day. Plus it is "spring" (in the way that 100-degree-days in April count as spring, anyway) and so I'm doing putter about the yard when I come home.

I don't know that I'll be doing much more in the way of blogging, although I would like to. Documentation is fun. Here's a little for you:

F is for Fertile

You'll never guess what I did today.

See? You didn't get it right. Fine, I'll tell. I took a pregnancy test. AND FAILED. It was funny though, because I decided to buy the test on my way home from work since there was a chance that I could be preggo, and I decided that things weren't happening that should be if I weren't preggo, and why not?? Walking into CVS I thought "Oh, wouldn't it be ironic if I ran into someone I knew here, buying a pregnancy test! Oh, I don't want the whole world to know that maybe it is possible that I might be WITH CHILD!"

So of course I see a friendly neighbor dude that we invited over for dinner this coming friday, and I got to do the classic sitcom make-friendly-chitchat-with-hands-casually-behind-your-back-hiding-the-incriminating-EPT-box" What FUN! Really, I did get a chuckle out of it. But now I understand why people buy these things in bulk on the internet. That same encounter wouldn't be nearly so funny six months from now.

There have been other, major developments at Chez Fay but I can't show you because I want it to be a surprise for my sister (that is if my husband didn't already tell her what we did this weekend).

So if you're in town on Friday, stop by! Make friendly chitchat! The good news is, I will be able to enjoy your company with the added bonus of BEER. Because in case you hadn't heard, I am NOT PREGNANT. It's official.
